Saguaro National Park - Tucson Mountain District

Great weather in January! Did a couple of short hikes. The 'drive' was really nice. We have a dog so we can't hike the trails. :( Beautiful!

Went to the western half and made it just in time to hike the short jaunt up Signal Hill for some excellent views of the sunset. Grab a few gifts in the visitors center nearby too!

We were there last month. The difficult thing was finding it, GPS of my Garmin did not do it, a lovely waitress at the Longhorns Steakhouse looked it up on her phone and wrote down all of it for us but I digressed. We loved seeing the wide variety of cactus, the loop road was rough to ride on so take it slow. There were picnic areas along the loop so think of packing a lunch.

Don't go in late June!

Went in January and the weather was perfect. This was one of our favorite stops on our Florida to California road trip. It's truly a place that must be seen in person.

The GPS (garmin) took me the wrong way, so make sure, or it's a 25 mile mistake, Beautiful plants, Went in early September, and it was HOT, but it's the desert. Very interesting plants, hard to imagine some are 300 years old, with just the tad of rain they get. Definitely worth the trip, go early in the morning.

Quite the place. It was HOT in June, but it is the desert. We got in on a talk about the lizards of the desert, and that was cool.

Went in January. Perfect weather. In my Top 5 hikes ever.

If you’ve never been up close to a Saguaro Cactus, then it’s a must see. Stop in at the visitor center and they’ll give you hiking trails, etc.
Any size RV is ok for this area. Just remember to bring a jacket for late afternoon walks and plenty of water.
I recommend going to the Desert Museum after checking out the cactus. There is plenty of room at the museum for even A class units.

Note: Unless you are pulling a small trailer or have a class B, I don’t recommend going through the pass (over a very steep, narrow and winding road) to Tucson. Double back the way you came.

Everything was great but I have a service dog that travels with me everywhere so I kind of took pics along the road and the sign to prove I was here. I guess the irresponsible dog owners ruin it for the rest of us. The road was really bad so watch your under carriage 😕 stopped at the visitor center for some info but everything was locked up. It was beautiful nonetheless thanks for such wonderful natural beauty
