Bell Rocks vortex and its movie-star good looks made it a prime gathering spot during 1987s Harmonic Convergence, when Sedona experienced a convergence of about 5,000 visitors at once (the town itself is home to only about 10,000), a good portion of whom gathered on and around Bell Rock one night in the hopes of some kind of extraterrestrial event. While the top failed to flip open and produce a UFO that particular evening, it was still a turning point for the culture and economy of Sedona, putting the community on the map for a host of New Age enthusiasts and a broader market of tourists.
Great hike! Wether you enjoy a short or long hike this is the easiest and most fun hike we have made so far. Well marked and the views are well worth the effort you trade for it. Will repeat this one when we come again.
Great hike with amazing views. You can do the short hike up the base or continue and climb up to the rock.
Bell Rock is a nice hike. I climbed the rock which was awesome! There’s not really a direct path to go on when you’re climbing the rock and it definitely takes some strength and awareness but it’s amazing to be on the rock! The view is awesome. Watch your step if you plan to climb the rock! Kids and dogs can climb the rock near the bottom but it wouldn’t deem it safe to climb higher. Worth the hike!
Made it pretty close to the top of Bell Rock. I worried about the summer-time heat, but we were actually in the shade most of the time. Perfect climbing for adventurous but inexperienced hikers!
Awesome hike, came back a second day just to visit. Kids loved it.

I could have easily stayed for several days! There is just so much to do!! We managed to get in 1 hike up to Bell Rock, which was a great & challenging hike!! Parking lot fills up quick!!!
Great view! The trail is a little hot in the summer bring a hat and lots of water!
