“One of Salem 's Treasures!”
Fun & Games: Historic 1866 carousel. Modern video arcade. Kiddie rides & classic Skeeball. Prizes and treasures. Vintage pinball machines. Good Food: Salt water taffy. “The best popcorn in New England”. The Willow’s famous chop suey sand wich. Pizza, fresh seafood, and homemade ice cream. Great Park: Picnic in the shade of majestic, 200 year old white willows. Play on the beach. Fish from the public pier. Enjoy outdoor concerts. Real History: America’s first ice cream cone. Joseph Brown’s flying horses. Duke Ellington. A public park since 1858. A special place in history.
A number of the photos on this piece are not from Salem Willows at all and do not accurately portray the location. Also at least one of them I am pretty sure is being used without the photographer's permission.
It's got that vintage feel-- some people might think it needs updating but its really just retro charm. It's got a park, a beach, the arcade, the wharf, and more. Gets crowded on summer days. Cheap way to spend an afternoon!
