“folk art tribute to the Cadillac Ranch”
Five Volkswagen Beetles buried nose down in the ground, in an obvious tribute to the nearby "Cadillac Ranch."
We stopped here on our June 2021 road trip, heading out of Amarillo to Oklahoma City. The kids thought it was very fun (they still had their cans of paint from visiting Cadillac Ranch earlier that day). There are also some other neat abandoned buildings to explore and photograph on the site as well. If you're careful, you can actually get your kids into a few of the Slug Bugs for some fun pictures. Definitely worth a stop if you're heading down Rt. 66!
A neat stop along the way. Make sure you bring some spray paint to add your mark!
Loved it! Quick on/off the Highway. Lots of fun spray painting and taking pictures. Worth the stop. When we went we were the only ones there, so that was nice.
was the only person here on my stop! I explored the abandoned gas station and other buildings to stretch my legs after a long drive that morning. worth the stop, much less people than Cadillac Ranch
Lots to see here, not only the VW Beetles but also the deserted gas station and surrounding buildings. Smaller than the Cadillac Ranch but also less people.
Owner was super friendly and answered all my questions. Bought spray paint and painted on the cars. T-shirts, magnets and other merch available. One of my favorite stops so far!
Fun little stop. Very similar to Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo. The buildings, covered in paint as well are also a nice photo op.
Went to Cadillac Ranch then headed to see the Bugs. We were the only people here compared, which was wildly different from the caddies. Definitely recommend.
I’m so bummed we got here so late!! We all love slug bugs and couldn’t wait to see it, but roadwork and potty breaks… well it didn’t happen!
But I got one cool picture, with our headlights shining on the vw bugs!
Looks like one of the bugs has fallen. Still cool. An easy stop off the 40
