“a world-famous tourist site”
The Rainbow Bridge, officially the Niagara Falls International Rainbow Bridge, is an arch bridge across the Niagara River gorge, and is a world-famous tourist site. It connects the cities of Niagara Falls, New York, United States (to the east), and Niagara Falls,Ontario, Canada (west). It is named for the fact that you can often see a rainbow over the Niagara Falls, which are just upstream from the bridge.
When in the Niagara Falls, NY/Ont area, its BEST to WALK across the Rainbow Bridge going into Canada and into the USA. The views are amazing, you may meet cool people, of course you get good exercise, and when there's a long line of cars waiting to get into Canada or the USA just think you don't have to WAIT. Just have your passport ready! When I walked into Canada, the customs officer looked like Erik Estrada circa CHIPS TV show.
Great place to view the fireworks from. You can see both falls with fireworks in front. Make sure you have your passport to get back.
