Chippewa Moraine Ice Age State Recreation Area

Situated along the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, the 3180-acre Chippewa Moraine State Recreation Area offers unspoiled beauty with kettle lakes and many glacial features. The Chippewa Moraine is one of nine units of the Ice Age National Scientific Reserve. Most of Chippewa Moraine is in Wisconsin's North Central Forest Landscape ; some is in the Forest Transition LandscapeThe Ice Age Interpretive Center holds first-class glacial, cultural, and natural history displays that educate and entertain both children and adults.Hiking, snowshoeing, outpost camping, and bird watching are popular activities, and the numerous lakes and ponds, including North and South Shattuck, Jeanstow, Knickerbocker, Townline, Horseshoe, and Plummer lakes, offer fishing and boating opportunities.
