The Lincoln Children's Museum was constructed as the first green building in the city of Lincoln. The Museum incorporated these green building principles into the design and renovation of the facility. These green building principles include minimizing the amount of waste generated during construction, recycling materials that could be separated from the construction waste stream, using recycled content building materials where feasible, and using best management practices regarding energy and water conservation.
The water play area was closed when we were there, but everything else in the museum kept my boys (4 & 8) entertained for almost 2 hours. Would definitely recommend for anyone with kids toddler to pre-teen.
If you have kids under the age of 9, this is a must-visit children's museum. Plenty of activities and photo ops, hands-on rotating exhibits and permanent fixtures like a water play center, rocket ship, theater and stage, TV studio, vet and doctor offices, treehouse, prairie dog holes, an airplane, semi cab, police motorcycle and more. Did I mention two face-painting stations? We've been to children's museums across the country and this is one of the best.
