“human cottonwood trees!”
Welcome to Lee Steens Tree People located in Great Falls, Montana. For thirty years, self-taught artist Lee Steen lived with his twin brother Dee, during that time he was known for his "Tree People." These are made using cottonwood branches he found and transformed into humanoid characters. Lee moved into a nursing home in 1972 and passed away in 1975, but much of his folk art collection was rescued and wisely preserved for continuing display in a museum! If you find yourself in the area, stop and check out this interesting display!
