“rocky mountain views!”
Alpine Visitor Center on Fall River Pass at the junction of Trail Ridge Road and Old Fall River Road is open daily 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. after Trail Ridge Road opens for the season in late May, and until it closes for winter (usually around the end of October). Mid June through Labor Day the hours are 9 to 5. It features extraordinary views of alpine tundra and Fall River Cirque, tundra displays, a bookstore, an adjacent gift shop and snack bar (the only restaurant in the Park). Rangers lead walks in this Land Above the Trees. Accessible restrooms and vault toilets are available. Call 970-586-1222 for road information. Use the link at the left to go to our Webcams page -- Alpine Visitors Center has a webcam on its' observation deck looking east over Fall River Cirque. Elevation above sea level: 11,798 ft.
This is a really nice visitor center with a huge gift shop connected to it. The gift shop also has some grab and go food options. The trail that is on the other side of the parking lot is also well worth the stop. There is usually a huge line for bathrooms we ended up driving further on for restrooms.
