“magic of crayola comes to life”
At The Crayola Experience, you’ll be immersed in color and creativity – a place where there's no limitation to creativity and imagination. You can color, draw, paint and create with the latest Crayola products without the worry of cleanup afterwards. Each creative space invites you to play and explore while learning and having lots and lots of fun. See how Crayola Crayons and Markers are made. Learn about the history of the Crayola brand. Explore dozens of interactive projects and activities. This is not the real manufacturing plant, but instead a visitor center that allows the child inside each person to unleash its creative spirit. Each quarter, themes and projects change, giving visitors a variety of projects to create throughout the year.
This is one of the coolest interactive museums I've ever been to. I went alone during a business trip, and had an AWESOME time. Activities like building your own marker (you get to watch it inject with ink), melting wax in a safe but real environment, and printing and rolling up your own customized crayon keep the Crayola Experience fresh, exciting, and viable for revisiting. The only downside: make sure you have ample time to explore it all! They close at 5:00pm but shut the doors earlier, so get there well-before-hand.
$15.99 for all of us ZJ is Free = $47.97 Open Sunday 7/28 10am-6pm
Oh my gosh, so much to do! We spent 2.5 hours there and easily could have spent more. My favorites we're all the melted stuff on the fourth floor. 3 year old favorites were the wrap your own crayon (2nd floor) and running around play area (3rd floor entrance, but 2 floors tall). They give you two tokens, one for the crayons and one for modeling clay. You can also purchase additional tokens for the markers or extra of the crayons or clay. There are "upgrade" activities for purchase, but there is so much included stuff that you don't really need to pay for anything else. The crayon making show was fun and you got a free crayon at the end.
Staff was mostly really enthusiastic and friendly except for the staff on the fourth floor around the melting stations. They seemed harried and almost frustrated with guests being there so close to closing (3:45pm on a Friday). They kept closing down machines that were working to divert people in certain directions.
This place is awesome... Two over 30 yr old women went together on a road trip and we will def be bringing our nephew back to this place it was so much fun!!!!!
The prices were steep. If you plan to stay all day it might be worth it but we waited until 430 half price. I wish I would have planned more time in this city, very charming.
Cute but not very well organized. Mad house busy and it was a Wednesday, would never go on weekend. Good for rainy day and if within hour drive otherwise not quite worth it.
