“one of Oklahoma's oldest guest ranches”
This 5,000-acre working cattle ranch, located on an island in the Cimarron River, is considered one of Oklahoma's oldest guest ranches. Owned by a fourth generation ranching family, the Island Guest Ranch is open to guests between April and September. They offer all-inclusive vacations that are family-oriented that include lodging, meals and ranch activities. Accommodations have private baths, air-conditioning and two queen beds. A variety of overnight, weeklong and group packages are available. Activities at the ranch include horseback riding, square dancing, powwows, fishing, swimming, hiking, trap shooting and trolley rides pulled by a team of Belgian draft horses. Guests also have the opportunity to try their hand in team penning and roping. From October to March, the ranch also offers upland game hunting packages. In addition to ranch packages, Island Guest Ranch also offers 12 and 14 day tours of Oklahoma. The Western setting of the ranch is so picturesque that Levi, Wrangler and Justin Boots, as well as several movies, have used the ranch as a location site. For those guests staying at least a week, free transportation is available from Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City. Horse rental is only available for guests at the ranch; however, non-guests may rent horses for horseback riding during Island Guest Ranch's off-season, which typically occurs in the fall.
