Grant’s Farm has been a St. Louis tradition for more than five decades. The 281-acre ancestral home of the Busch family, located just south of the city of St. Louis, is home to more than 900 animals representing more than 100 different species. More than 24 million guests have visited this popular family attraction since it was opened it to the public in 1954. The Farm takes its name from Ulysses S. Grant, the 18th President of the United States. In the 1850s, Grant founded and farmed a portion of the 281 acres. Nice little break from the city area. The Farm is beautiful and my kids loved the tram through the area looking at all the animals. The activities are fun, my daughter loved riding the ponies. It can get pretty crowded during nice weather but it was still a good time. The food is basic "park" food, minus the biergarten area.

This is a cute place to stop especially with young children. The kids as well as us adults loved the tram ride you take from the front entrance to the farm area. The guide gives lots of history about the farm and points out animals on the way to the farm. They offer a fun pass for $5 that gets you one ride on the carousel, 2 milk bottles to feed goats, and a sno cone. We split the card between our 3 kids and saved $1 that way.

Great little zoo type place to enjoy time with the family. Free to go, pay $12 to park, ride the carousel, feed the birds, ride animals pet horses and eat snow cones! Had our 7 and 13yr old and they both had fun interacting with the animals!

Grant's Farm is a wonderful family outing. It cost nothing to get in (but it does cost $12 to park). You can purchase tickets to ride the carousel, feed the goats, feed the parakeets, ride a camel or for a pony ride. This is a nice alternative to the zoo especially for small kids. It can get very crowded on weekends and in the summer so be prepared to wait. Food is expensive.
