“Amazing glass art in Seattle”
Chihuly Garden and Glass provides a look at the inspiration and influences that inform the career of artist Dale Chihuly. Located at Seattle Center, Chihuly Garden and Glass includes an Exhibition Hall, the centerpiece Glasshouse and a lush Garden. The Exhibition Hall contains eight galleries and three Drawing Walls, offering visitors a comprehensive look at Chihuly’s significant series of work; the Glasshouse presents a suspended 1,400-piece, 100-foot-long sculpture; and the Garden is a backdrop for four monumental sculptures and other installations.
Mind blowing! I loved how Chihuly combined a lot of the Pacific Northwest themes from his youth into his work. The displays here are some of the most stunning I have ever seen anywhere in the world. My only criticism is that we didn't get to finish the outside garden because we had a set time on our ticket for the Space Needle and Chihuly glass doesn't let you reenter.
Absolutely amazing. We could have spent hours there, unfortunately we did not know about it until we were there. It is located right next to the Space Needle.
This is fantastic and you need to see it during the evening hours to get the full effect of the colors. The art is large and hanging in some areas. These are large exhibits that keep you wondering, "how on earth did he put this together."
Kids and adults alike should really enjoy this. It was a highlight of our trip.
Dale Chihuly's glass work is truly amazing. This should definitely be a stop while you're in Seattle. I went during the day, but I bet at night the outside pieces are just as stunning. I think there are packages for you to purchase both a glass garden and space needle ticket, if you're want to do both, and that will save you about $5.
Buy your tickets online to save a couple bucks.
Absolutely awe-inspiring, masterfully created pieces that makes one wish to take a small piece home. unfortunately, they pieces cost an arm & a leg, roughly $12000; out of reach for those working stiffs, myself included!
We got the Chihuly / Space Needle combo ticket. There is a little cafe in the Chihuly. We got some french fries and root beer float. The indoor area is not lit well for pictures of people with the art, which is fine, but just a note because the people using flash were wildly disappointed unless they had a dslr. The outdoor garden was awesome. catching reflections of the space needle off the glass.
