“The Taj Mahal of Ten Pins”
Reno's National Bowling Stadium is a 78-lane bowling facility completed in 1995 to be used specifically for tournaments and special events. The National Bowling Stadium is the host for the world's largest bowling tournaments and hosts convention and corporate bowling parties for up to 2,000 people. The open and versatile design of many areas of the National Bowling Stadium allows it to be transformed into several configurations to suit any event. The National Bowling Stadium is available for private parties, business meetings and bowling functions. Any event held in such a venue would certainly be memorable.
They do have a regular bowling alley at the front of the building for casual bowlers. You may recognize the place from ESPN or even the movie Kingpin. It's really something to see. If you're a bowler this is your Mecca. I'm not into bowling but I still appreciated the hugeness of the place. Hard to photograph, but you'll want to watch Kingpin after you leave!
There is no opening bowling you have to be part of an event, league or tournament to bowl here. Defiantly not your average bowling alley.
The website says it’s open until 5pm, we got there at 3:30pm and it was closed :(
