“Free outdoor art museum!”
The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is one of Minnesota's crown jewels and its centerpiece, the Spoonbridge and Cherry, has become a Minnesota icon. The Sculpture Garden is essentially a free museum in a park, uniting two of Minnesota’s most cherished resources—its greenspace and its cultural life.
Closed until June 2017!
Such a delightful walk, I bet it's stunning once everything is in bloom. Tip: this states that the sculpture garden closes at 5. The indoor museum next door closes at 5 pm, the park and sculpture garden are open to visitors from dusk until dawn. Nearby parking lot is only a $3 charge for the day.
Great place to take a walk and enjoy the art. Many beautiful pieces. There are extra exhibits open in the summer. Summer 2014 featured 2 nine hole mini golf courses with each hole designed by a different artist.
Great park to walk around, but they are in the middle of a remodel so we found the spoon, one other sculpture and a cool fish in the green house. The garden will reopen in 2017 with new art. If you are looking for a place to walk in the fresh air, go, but if you are looking for art, wait until 2017.
Visited on a cold, gray afternoon - but still a great place to walk around. The conservatory and sculptures were great. Within view and walking distance was the Basilica
