Our second visit back, and it was another great time had by all! Last time we came was in the fall, and this time was the end of Spring/beginning of Summer. It was much more crowded this time, but we did go on a weekend too in warmer weather. Most of the animals were still hungry, and there was plenty to see and do. We enjoyed feeding the kangaroos, and there's a bench there for the elderly/disabled, or just someone that's tired. You can buy carrots and bags of feed for a little extra at the entrance if you wish to feed the animals. We also fed bears, goats, horses, and more. The Fennec Fox and bearcats that were sleeping were cute. I loved the prairie dogs giving a group hug! The sloth was also amusing. The white bengal tiger was sleeping. It seems they had more animals than last time that we were here. The wolves were not active but huddled in a corner. It seems that there is a new experience each time you come here, and we hope to come back for even more visits in the future.
Call before you go: the park is closed from sometime in November til sometime in April. The gift shop is open all year round and it’s actually a good place to make a short wintertime runaround pit stop with a toddler (lovely clean bathrooms with changing tables and a big photo-op bear outside) but it would have been nice if we had known in advance there would be no actual animals.
Great little place to visit, very friendly staff. You can feed some of the critters & ride a pony. Military discount was amazing. Alot of great animals to see. Not crowded nice couple hours spent there.
This was a great pit stop! Kids loved it. It’s not huge but there are a good amount of animals to see, we got through the whole thing in about 30 min. At admission they offer bags of carrots and pellets to feed the animals - we found the carrots to be way more popular with the animals and barely used the pellets. Watch out for the strategically placed gift shop full of kids toys.
Living Treasures was one of our favorite things that we did on our trip to the East Coast (8 states) from Ohio. I HIGHLY recommend the Sloth Interaction where you get to feed/pet/spend time w/a baby sloth (Padawan.) We also loved feeding the animals carrots and bag feed throughout the park. There's several you can feed from your hand, and others you can feed through a tube. The animals were hungry and active. It's a great experience for animal lovers.
Who can resist the opportunity to feed some animals right from the palm of your hand? Living Treasures Wild Animal Park lets you do that while exploring over 300 animals (50 different species). From alligators to water buffalo, they have a plethora of animals for you to enjoy. The best part? The big cats exhibit.
A perfect quick side visit on our road trip!! Reasonably priced.
