“Within sight of downtown Miami, yet worlds away”

Within sight of downtown Miami, yet worlds away, Biscayne protects a rare combination of aquamarine waters, emerald islands, and fish-bejeweled coral reefs. Here too is evidence of 10,000 years of human history, from pirates and shipwrecks to pineapple farmers and presidents. Outdoors enthusiasts can boat, snorkel, camp, watch wildlife…or simply relax in a rocking chair gazing out over the bay. Mangrove snapper (also known as gray snapper) must be at least 10 inches long to keep. Following fishing regulations will ensure healthy fisheries in and outside of Biscayne National Park for generations to come. Unlike many units of the National Park system that can be fully experienced in a car or on foot, Biscayne National Park requires some planning to make the most of a visit. With 95% of its 172,000 acres covered by water, going out on a boat is the best way to really experience the park. If you only have a short while, or cannot go out on a boat, the Convoy Point area offers a variety of land-based and indoor opportunities to get to know the park.

You get to visit Biscayne National Park by boat. Fantastic place if you like snorkeling.
We did snorkel and saw beautiful sea creatures all around us.

If you are afraid to snorkel the same boat takes you sightseeing too. Otherwise, you can prepare some lunch and enjoy the beautiful sunset at the picnic spots.
