It was not free to visit. It costs $30.00. Just wanted to give everyone the heads up
This place is one of the coolest most surreal forests I've ever been to. It's magical. It's gorgeous. I could go on and on about it. Everyone needs to see this.
We went to the trail of mosses, its a short hike to really enjoy the forest. One of the best place i've been to.
I wish I could just live in this forest. So surreal. Feels almost prehistoric with the moss and ferns. I woke up to deer in my camp site. Definitely go if you love that true camping feel where you feel totally away from civilization. The crowds were definitely more tame then at Yellowstone. I had spotty to no reception.
It is great place for tourists for sure but not for the locals. I've been living in Washington for 11 years. I've hiked many trails. And the Hoh trails are just the same as many other trails in WA... Nothing special. And it is so crowded there.
Literally the most gorgeous place I’ve visited in the states. We went on a clear and bright day so we got to see her in all her glory 💚 it was truly an epic experience.
Took the trail to Blue Glacier, camped at Elk lake then hiked to the glacier the next day. In the morning at Elk lake we looked down on a sea of sun soaked clouds filling the Hoh river valley. It was the best of the Pacific NW hikes. That is not to say the others were not great.
The drive to the visitor center plus the quick Hall of Mosses hike made the stop worth it. It’s a bit far from hurricane ridge but close to the beaches
