“Discover the weird & wonderful”

You will not find anything like this place back home. No, SERIOUSLY, you will NOT find anything like the Junkmans Daughter, Atlanta's Alternative Super Store, anywhere except here in the edgy; well, over-the-edge Neighborhood of Little Five Points.  It all began in 1982, when Pam Majors, who really IS the daughter Of a junkman, rented a 1,000 square-foot storefront. She filled it with tchotchkes and dead stock from her parents 40 year accumulation of stuff, and began adding her own take on weird and wonderful. Her eye for the bizarre but beautiful drew everyone from neighborhood folk, artists, musicians and trendsetters who were obviously followed by you guessed it, celebrities! Steven Tyler, Bono, Cyndi Lauper, ZZ Top, The Clash, Betsey Johnson, Lenny Kravitz, Pat Field, Pink, Alice Cooper, Outkast, Courtney Love, Usher, Tura Santana, Debbie Harry, Avril Lavigne, Nicky Sixx, Rick James, Cee Lo Green, Alanis Morrisette. You get the picture. Recently voted one of the 25 Best Independent stores in America, along with our Athen's, GA location "The Junkman's Daughter's Brother", Junkmans is now celebrating their 30th anniversary, and has grown to 10,000 square-feet! Crammed full with far-out fashions, groovy accessories for men and women, unique and unusual gifts, housewares from around the world, cool collectibles, retro knick-knacks, toys, books you will never find at Borders, and a fully stocked tobacco shop. Be sure to climb the 20-foot red high-heeled staircase and check out the fabulous shoe department! Want to win that Halloween contest this year? Junkmans has the most irreverent and original wigs, masks and costumes in town.

They have the most random, fun stuff. Kind of in between a thrift store and an urban outfitters.

Great store with all kinds of things and lots of local art. In a fun, and quirky neighborhood with good coffee and food steps away.

This was an *interesting* store, in an equally *interesting* neighborhood. Not at all what I expected. The shop is a cross between a Spenser's and a Sex shop. No doubt, neat, if that is what you are looking for. Very friendly staff.
