  1. Goshen was platted in 1831, and was named after the Land of Goshen, named in the Bible as the place in Egypt given to the Hebrews by the pharaoh of Joseph, and the land from which they later left Egypt at the time of the Exodus.
  2. The industry in Goshen centers around the automative and RV business. RV manufacturing companies include Dutchmen, Forest River and Keystone.
  3. The south side Wal-Mart in Goshen, is rumored to be the first Wal-Mart in the United States to provide a covered stable for its frequent Amish customers. The Amish built the stable with lumber and other supplies donated by Wal-Mart.
  4. Kate Bouldan, an American broadcast journalist and co-anchor in CNN, was born in Goshen.
